How They Work
There are two components to Daikin mini splits: an interior ‘evaporator’ unit, and an exterior ‘condensing’ unit. The interior portion of the unit is diminutive in size, so you can enjoy warm and cold temperatures without having an eyesore in the room. 
Daikin mini splits don’t need ducts to operate, which is why they are perfect for use in areas where your forced air system can’t reach (or isn’t set up). A licensed professional can set one up with relative ease: an opening of just three inches or less will be created to connect the indoor and outdoor units, and the indoor unit will be mounted to the surface of your choosing. It runs on electricity.

As you’ve come to expect from Daikin, great warranties are offered on most products. Daikin mini split single-zone heat pumps and mini-split single-zone air conditioners are eligible for 10 to 12-year limited part warranties (varies by unit).
